Ha Long Bay cultural and historical values

Ha Long Bay, a UNESCO World Heritage Site in Quang Ninh Province, is renowned for its physical beauty characterized by mountains, water, clouds, caves, and grottoes. Many are unaware that Ha Long was also the cradle of an ancient civilization that shaped the current Ha Long culture.

The bay retains its otherworldly magic, with 1969 jungle-clad islands and islets rising from deep emerald waters. Accessibility has improved with the 2018 construction of an expressway connecting Ha Long City and Hanoi, approximately 200km away.

Kayaking excursions

The Ha Long Day Tour includes islands, caves, and kayaking with Dragonfly Cruise.

Itinerary:

  • 8:00 AM: Pick-up from the Symposium venue; depart to Ha Long Bay.
  • 10:00 AM: En route, view the Hanoi-Halong expressway. Stop to visit Tan Vu - Lach Huyen Bridge, the longest sea-crossing bridge in Vietnam and Southeast Asia. Also, visit Bach Dang Bridge, linking the Hanoi - Hai Phong - Ha Long expressway.
  • 12:00 PM: Arrive at Tuan Chau Island and board the traditional cruise.
  • 12:30 PM: Enjoy a fresh seafood lunch while admiring the tranquil beauty and breathtaking scenery from the boat deck.
  • 6:00 PM: Return to Tuan Chau, board the bus back to Hanoi.
  • 8:30 PM: Arrive in Hanoi.

During the cruise, witness tiny islands with rock arches, sheer cliffs, white sand beaches, and peaceful coves. These limestone islands, with fanciful names like Incense Burner, Stone Dog, and Fighting Cock (Ha Long Bay's symbol), resemble sculpted cartoon characters.

Explore Sung Sot Cave, the longest, biggest, and most beautiful grotto in Ha Long Bay.
